What is it about the cheshire cat that makes it so cool? Is it the giant smile, cuz it’s a cat, and maybe because it’s a little bit bizarre and demented in the head? When Span of Sunset cranked out a black and white one as an exclusive for Diamond Comics a couple years ago, it really got my acttention. I didn’t know where it came from, what it was all about, and amidst all the commotion at San Diego Comic Con, I completly forgot to go check it out. There were only 300 of these made in the world, featuring the Cheshire cat from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland with diamonds all over its body. What a statement!
The box that it came in has the face of a cat with diamonds in its eyes, and if you look closely, the nose is actually another little evil face (or is it just my imagination?)
There was also one made to the theme of the Pirates of the Caribbean, 500 limited count. I also remember seeing a picture once of a custom Tokidoki one made by Simone Legno for a show. Alas, I can’t seem to find that picture again!
