Thanks to my friend Ben Davidson, he got me hooked on Diaclones. While I am not willing to shell out the hundreds to thousands of dollars on them, I am fortunate enough that Ehobby has made a few repaints in hommage to diaclone toys.

This is Ehobby’s Crosscut aka Honda City-S

For all the TF fans, he is from the Skids mold. In actuality Diaclones had 5 variants of the Honda City mold.

There were two major mold differences. City-R or the City turbo. Which came in different colors. Red and Silver for City-R. Red, black and blue for the Turbo version.

Crosscut is a City-R while Skids is a City Turbo. The hoods and heads are the mold changes. The Turbo hood has a bump on the hood like so many 80′s japanese cars with turbos. Even into the 90′s they used the bump like on the Honda CRX (but it wasnt for the turbo)

Along with the mold changes Diaclone Honda City cars came with a little Honda scooter called Honda Motocompo

Here is a website describing the Motocompo: http://gadgets.3yen.com/2005-04-01/the-honda-motocompo/

A little bit of trivia: according to the website I posted above, the Honda City was called “Jazz” in Europe. My 07 Honda Fit is also called the Jazz in Europe. So my Honda Fit is also a Honda City.

In the Diaclone line, there is a two pack with a 4WD Hilux Wrecker Type aka Blue Hoist and the City-S. The City-R only came in their own packaging. The City-S is an exclusive to the Double pack

Here are the pics of Ehobby Crosscut
