So every year San Diego Comic Convention has a list of exclusive toys that sell out mad quickly and unexpectedly, some as expected, and some just surprisingly linger around.

As expected, the Green Lantern Hal Jornan Figures were hot, but who knew that at a production run of 3000 of the green and 1500 of the yellow, blue, orange, and red Lanterns he’d be extremely hard to get?  Each day you stood in line at the Graphitti Designs booth for lottery for a chance to purchase the color of the day. Preview Night was Green, Thursday was Yellow, Friday blue, Saturday orange, and Sunday red.  They sold out immediately everyday so far since Preview Night! Well, I guess this was the first time ever they did this head sculp for the green lantern, ever.

    snipping from the shawnimals shop:

    Professor Fliggins: Bingo Clem
    Professor Fliggins: Bingo Clem
    Professor Fliggins: Bingo Clem
    Professor Fliggins: Bingo Clem

    Professor Fliggins: Bingo Clem

Professor Fliggins was rescued from the evil clutches of Mr. Demon in the Dark Forest thanks to the valiant efforts of the Pink Ninja, and was then healed through cookies and meditation with the help of the wise Ol’ Master Ninja.

Then Fliggins ventured off to what he thought was his homeland, but instead went to a similar Island where he encountered Vice Chancellor Bingo Clem. Huh? I know, he’s weird. Apparently this Isle is filled with all sorts of odd creatures, detached from their former selves and detached from society at large. Hmm…

From the tag: “This mismatched fellow is quite important on the resort-like Isle, making sure all of the various bits and pieces are utilized appropriately by all of its inhabitants.”

    Size: ~ 9″ × 7.5″ × 2″

Each month Shawnimals will release a new discovery…

    • An all-new handmade plush character
    • Tagged with its description and numbered
    • Limited to 100 pcs
    • Each comes meticulously packaged with brown paper, tied with a cotton string
    • Special accessories – Mismatched nub and tail!
    • Character-specific artifacts – Used Bandy?!
    • A goody bag filled with a sticker and two special buttons!

These monthly releases have an MSRP of $40 each plus shipping. First come, first served!

Thought I’d make a Pullip Doll entry. These have been around for a couple years now,  and quite popular in Japan.  Pullip means, “young leaf” in Korean. Pullip is a line of remarkable fashion dolls created by Korean company Cheonsang Cheonha, marketed by Jun Planning of Japan. Each amazing edition stands about 12 inches tall, is fully articulated, and comes with unique face makeup, outfit and accessories, a trading card, and a doll stand. The dolls also include a biography that contains a wealth of information, such as age, family profile, hobbies, personality, and more. Pullips can even open and close their eyes, and look from side to side.  Here are some currently for sale and coming out in October 2009:

Hmm, they aren’t getting very creative here. This year’s tokidoki exclusive so far seems to be a 400% kubrick of the LA Robber Be@rbrick. It will be selling at Comic Con this year. Don’t want to brave the lines? It looks like you can preorder it here for around $89.95, but notice it will be available two months after the show. Am I missing some other news around here? Where are the other tokidoki exclusives? Strangeco? Qee? Anyone?? I feel like there should be more…

    nike-basketball-transformers-qs-1

Nike is coming out with a Quickstrike line of shoes for the second release of Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen movie. They come in three colorways. Zoom FP for Bumblebee comes in yellow, the Sharkalaid for Soundwave is in a blue, and the Zoom Flight Club for Megatron is in a silver colorway to match the deceptacon robot.  The transparent shroud on the Megatron version of the Zoom Flight Club is probably the most interesting part of the Transformer II Pack line of shoes from Nike.
